OYA: Oya originates from the Yoruba people. She is the goddess of the Niger River and the Orisha of winds and tempest. She controls wind, lightening, birth, death, business, change, witchcraft, sports, rebirth and storms. She can help in ancestor ceremonies, any witchcraft, money management, athletic performance and major life changes. She will wipe away the old and make room for the new. She is wife to Shango and has 9 daughters.
You may serve her: Anything purple, eggplants , red wine, plums, purple grapes, coins, copper, tobacco and cloth.
